our mission

Conservation has always been America's common ground. It lives in the rancher nurturing wildlife habitat, the angler who knows every bend of the river, the scientist championing public lands, and the legislator turning values into law. Regardless of politics or background, a commitment to the natural world has long been one of the few things that brings Americans to the same table.

The Women’s Conservation Forum exists to build a lasting, bipartisan forum for that work, and to develop the next generation of women who will lead it.

Mission: Women’s Conservation Forum builds the next generation of women leaders in conservation policy through a bipartisan fellowship program and a growing national community of conservation professionals.

The fellowship is the pipeline. The forum is the purpose. We exist to build lasting relationships that carry good conservation work forward, no matter which side of the aisle it starts on.

Why bipartisan matters

The best work happens when people find common ground on conservation issues. That common ground is rare, and it has to be intentionally built and protected. Our fellowship and our forum exist to do exactly that, bringing together Hill staff and administration officials, NGO leaders and sportsmen's advocates, scientists and landowners, in service of a shared goal.

a growing national community

Women’s Conservation Forum is built to grow. What started as a Washington, D.C.-based fellowship is the foundation for a national forum, with plans for a broader community and regional presence in the years ahead.
